A Star for Christmas (ION, 2012)
“Nothing wrong with a little naughtiness in my opinion….”
Starring: Corey Sevier, Briana Evigan, Travis Van Winkle ,Brooke Burns
Plot Synopsis: The only thing that is working in Cassie’s world is her small town business. Her Christmas Cupcakery is a huge success, but her love life is a mess. Cassie’s whole universe is turned upside down when she falls in love with a co-worker who is revealed to be the famous and notoriously troubled actor Alex Gray. There’s no denying that Alex and Cassie are in love, but can their relationship survive the pressure of Hollywood and the holidays? (x)
In My Humble Opinion: This film was both weirdly twee and weirdly boring. It’s as if nobody tried, except for the special effects and graphic departments who went overboard. The lead actress says everything in the same monotone, and there were these weird scenes where people ate cupcakes and stars appeared in the sky, and just everything in general was awful. Out of all the new movies, I have seen this year, this is probably the first out and out bomb.
Watch If: You don’t own a TV, you are good at pretending to be shot, or if you have been in Sacramento all my life.
Skip If: You regret having shared custody with your dog, you see a world that is quickly falling apart during Christmas, or if you’ve been made a fool of by a guy and his handiwork stuff.
